"I collect"

This exhibition is a collection of Oira and Kamikuzu Club, and will travel around Paris, Osaka, and Seoul.

It will feature clothes, paper, fabric, tool, etc., centering ‘oira 003/“I collect”’, an ensemble created with the concept of collecting, and “Kamikuzu Club”, paper items collected by Takuya Tanoue who runs Essential Store in Osaka.

“Zōkei” (n:form, v:forming, molding) has the power to reshape the very framework of our perception of the world. And collecting is the practice of preserving a bequeathing the “Zōkei”.

"Semamori" Embroidery Sample Book。

Circa 1900‘s〜1910’s

A back guard (semamori) is a talisman sewn on the back of a child's kimono.

When making kimono, the fabric that is on the left and right of the body is sewn together, so you can make a seam called "back stitching" along the spine. In the past, people believed that the "eyes" had the power of an amulisman, and they believed that the "seams" of the back seam also had the power to prevent demons from creeping up from behind.

The characteristic is that the embroidery is established because the seam of one needle is long and it is a flat place under the neck of the back.
